Gordan D. Ford
Executive Director

Gordan D. Ford is Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lincoln Preparatory School.  In this capacity, he is both superintendent and principal of the single-school school district. Prior to beginning his new career in education, he served 25 years as an officer and pilot in the U. S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve, managing budgets in excess of $62M.  On June 30, 2016, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, having flown more than 3,600 flying hours in 10 different aircraft on 5 continents.  Before embarking on his military career, he served as Associate Registrar of Grambling State University.  Lt Col Ford is also an ordained Baptist minister and is Pastor of the St. David Missionary Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.  He is a proud 1987 graduate of Grambling High School and a 1991 graduate of Grambling State University with a B.A. in Mathematics (Physics minor).  Additionally, he will receive the Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Grambling State University in December 2016.  His wife is a local physician and their two children attend Lincoln Preparatory School.


Melanie G. Colvin
Assistant Director
High School Chief Academic Officer


Melanie G. Colvin, the Senior Assistant Director and High School Chief Academic Officer of Lincoln Preparatory School, has been an educator for twenty-five years.  Melanie received her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in Health, Physical, and English Education and her master’s degree from Grambling State University in Educational Leadership.  During her educational career, she has been named Teacher of the Year eight times and Coach of the Year seven times.  Melanie’s main goal at Lincoln Preparatory School is to provide all Lincoln Preparatory students with academic opportunities that will provide pathways to higher education and lucrative careers.  

Rashid Young
Assistant Director
Chief Operations Officer


Rashid Young is Assistant Director for Operations and Chief Operations Officer at Lincoln Preparatory School.  He previously served in leadership roles for both Sprint Corporation and Target Corporation. Rashid has experience working in both rural and inner-city school settings where he has doubled as teacher and coach. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock, AR and will complete his Master’s Degree in Education from Grambling State University in 2017.   Rashid is a former member of the Grambling State University football team where he was a part of the 2005 SWAC and Black National Championship team. 


Phaedra Burks

K-8 Chief Academic Officer

Phaedra Burks is Assistant Director and K-8 Chief Academic Officer of Lincoln Preparatory School.  

Bobby Jordan
Assistant Director
Counseling and Special Services

Bobby Jordan is Assistant Director of Counseling and Special Services at Lincoln Preparatory School.  Mr. Jordan received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Psychology and a Master's degree in School Counseling from Northwestern State University.  Prior to coming to Lincoln Preparatory School, he served as a school counselor for Atlanta High School in Winn Parish for eight years.  He has also worked as an intake coordinator at a privately run rehabilitation hospital and as an analyst for the the State of Louisiana in the Offices of Family Support and the Department of Health and Hospitals.  He currently resides with his wife, Dr. Katrina Jordan, and two children, Kelsey and Luke, in Winn Parish Louisiana.


Glen Hall
Athletic Director

Glen Hall is Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Lincoln Preparatory School.  Glen is a graduate of Grambling State University and holds certifications in K-12 Health/Physical Education and 6-12 Social Studies.  He has been a teacher and coach at the high school, college and professional levels for more than 25 years.
