ABOUT US

Lincoln Prep is a Type II charter school located in Grambling, Louisiana. Our school is a college preparatory school, and we work hard to prepare our students for post-secondary success. Our student body of Pre-K4 through 12th grade consists of students from seven parishes across north Louisiana (Bienville, Claiborne, Jackson, Lincoln, Ouachita, Webster, and Union). This year we are focusing on connecting those students to our thriving community of Lincoln Parish and to tremendous opportunities that exist in the wonderful state of Louisiana. Our state has so much to offer in the area of higher education, art, industry, business, and commerce. In order to highlight opportunities, Lincoln Preparatory School has developed positive partnerships with multiple organizations to better meet the needs of their students, teachers, and overall school community.

On the elementary side, Lincoln Prep has initiated partnerships in 2018-19 with the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts (GRFA) to become a Louisiana A+ Member School. We are also partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Louisiana to host a new Unit on the Lincoln Prep campus, providing after school and summer programs for Lincoln Prep students and non-Lincoln Prep students in our local community. We expect the partnerships with these organizations to lead to higher student achievement, better attendance of students and teachers, decreased discipline problems, stronger parent and community involvement, and a more creative and joyful school climate. We also have continuing partnerships with the United Way, Lincoln Health Foundation, and several local adopt-a-school partners. United Way provides volunteers through their Read-Learn-Succeed Program to assist students in third grade and provide books for those students to take home. The Lincoln Health Foundation, with the United Way and other community organizations to provide weekend meals for food insecure Lincoln Prep students.

In the secondary school arena, we have on-going partnerships with Grambling State University, Louisiana Tech University, Northwestern State University and Southern University at Shreveport to provide dual-enrollment college courses for our students. In addition to regular college-level coursework, the partnerships with Grambling State University and Southern University at Shreveport allow us to provide English and Math developmental courses for students needing remediation prior to enrolling in freshman courses. This year, Lincoln Prep has added partnerships with Delta Community College and the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home to provide additional opportunities for our students. At Delta Community College, our students are taking courses leading to Certified Nursing Assistant certification. The partnership with the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home has allowed Lincoln Prep students to receive training in their vocational laboratory, leading to industry-based certification in welding, carpentry and barbering. These partnerships are helping to ensure that each Lincoln Prep student graduates with a TOPS University diploma, dual-enrollment credits and one or more industry-based certifications. We have also developed partnerships with LOSFA (Louisiana Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid) and LA GEAR-UP to promote college awareness and post-secondary success. Some of our students belong to LOSFA’s Aspire to Inspire Mentoring Program which provides guidance for at-promise students.

Lincoln Preparatory School is blessed to have the support of all of our stakeholders. We know what an important role our surrounding community plays in the success of our school. Thank you for supporting our students!
